2026年8月1日,2026暑假全球院士生物健康与医药产业创新英才营在无锡市协和双语学校圆满落下帷幕。在为期六天的高强度学术探索中,来自全国各地的优秀学子在哈佛大学细胞与分子生物学终身正教授 Florian Engert 的亲自指导下,围绕神经回路与动物行为学这一前沿领域展开深度学习,完成了一场从“知识输入”到“科研输出”的完整学术训练。

顶尖学者亲临无锡,打造沉浸式科研课堂

本次英才营由无锡市协和双语学校与京领共同举办,特邀哈佛大学终身正教授 Florian Engert 亲临无锡校园指导。Engert教授是国际知名的系统神经科学家,其研究深度融合计算与实验神经科学,多篇代表性论文发表于《Nature》《Science》等世界顶尖期刊。

在教学中,Engert教授摒弃传统的PPT讲授模式,采用全程手绘神经元与神经回路的方式,引导学生像真正的科学家一样追问“为什么”。在他的课堂上,同学们既收获了科学知识,也获得了学术思维的锻炼。

在此基础上,同学们系统学习了著名科学家David Marr提出的三个分析层次——进化目的、算法原理与物理实现。这一理论框架是麻省理工学院、哈佛大学等世界顶尖学府训练未来科学家的核心思维工具。同学们收获的不仅是生物学知识,更是拆解任何复杂问题的系统能力。

8月1日下午,结营仪式顺利举行。Engert教授亲自为圆满完成全部学习任务并通过答辩的同学们颁发亲笔签名的结业证书。两位学生代表上台分享了六天来的学习感悟——从最初的困惑与挑战,到思索、探究、豁然开朗,真实呈现了学术成长的完整轨迹。

On August 1, 2026, the 2026 Summer Global Academician Research Camp in Biological Health and Pharmaceutical Innovation successfully concluded at Wuxi United International School. Over six intensive days of academic exploration, outstanding students from across China, under the direct mentorship of Harvard University tenured full professor Florian Engert in Cellular and Molecular Biology, delved deeply into the frontier field of neural circuits and animal behavior—completing a full training cycle from knowledge intake to research output.

World-Class Scholar in Wuxi: An Immersive Research Classroom

Co-hosted by Wuxi United International School and KingLead, the camp invited Harvard tenured professor Florian Engert to teach on campus in Wuxi. Professor Engert is an internationally renowned systems neuroscientist whose research integrates computational and experimental neuroscience, with numerous landmark papers published in Nature and Science.

Rejecting conventional PowerPoint lectures, Professor Engert used hand-drawn diagrams of neurons and neural circuits throughout, guiding students to ask "why" like true scientists. In his classroom, students gained not only scientific knowledge but also rigorous intellectual training.

Over the six days, students experienced a complete research learning cycle—from group topic discussions and English literature reviews to final English-language defense presentations—systematically developing their research thinking and academic communication skills.

Under the professor's guidance, students explored classic scientific questions—how do desert ants navigate accurately without GPS or maps? Building on this, students systematically studied the three levels of analysis proposed by renowned scientist David Marr—evolutionary purpose, algorithmic principles, and physical implementation. This theoretical framework is a core thinking tool used by top institutions such as MIT and Harvard to train future scientists. Bridging to a Wider World Through Academics

On the afternoon of August 1, the closing ceremony was held. Professor Engert personally awarded signed certificates of completion to all students who successfully fulfilled the requirements and passed their defenses. Two student representatives shared their reflections on the six-day journey—from initial confusion and challenges, through deliberation and exploration, to moments of clarity—vividly presenting the authentic trajectory of academic growth.

In his concluding remarks, Professor Engert highly commended the students' performance and encouraged them to continue their academic pursuits. Principal Meng Xiaodong of Wuxi United International School urged the students to carry forward the knowledge and abilities gained from the camp into their future studies and lives.
