2026年1月8日，由京领主办、无锡市协和双语学校承办、美国西部院校协会（WASC）战略支持的2026国际学校高质量发展新年研讨会在无锡协和圆满落幕。
来自全球的教育权威、哈佛牛剑教授、数十位知名国际学校校长及600余名教育同仁齐聚太湖之畔，以“高质量发展”为共同坐标，围绕国际学校科技创新、课程融合与人才培养路径展开高层次对话，凝聚行业共识，擘画发展新章。
On January 8, the 2026 International Schools High-Quality Development New Year Conference, hosted by KingLead, organized by Wuxi United International School, and strategically supported by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), concluded successfully in Wuxi. Esteemed educational authorities from around the world, professors from Ivy League and Oxbridge universities, dozens of renowned international school principals, and over 600 educational peers gathered by the shores of Taihu Lake. With "high-quality development" as their shared benchmark, they engaged in high-level dialogues focusing on the governance systems of international schools, curriculum integration, and talent cultivation pathways. The conference aimed to build industry consensus and chart a new course for development.

权威启幕：以国际标准引领质量跃升
会议以高规格开篇。WASC主席Barry Groves博士发表致辞，从国际权威标准视角阐释认证体系对于学校持续改进、质量保障与全球竞争力提升的关键意义，为中国国际学校高质量发展提供了重要的专业参照与路径启示。
锡山区教育局局长顾凤艳在致辞中表示，本次研讨会聚焦国际学校高质量发展，旨在探索中西融合、全人发展的创新育人路径，培育具备面向未来能力的创新人才，促进国际学校高质量与可持续发展。
无锡协和联合校长孟晓东在欢迎辞中重申学校“融合中西，和谐发展”的办学理念，强调无锡协和始终致力于培养“心智自由的终身学习者”，在守正与创新之间把握尺度，在本土与世界之间搭建桥梁，以更稳健的质量体系回应时代对优质教育的期待。
The conference commenced with high-level proceedings. Dr. Barry Groves, Chair of WASC, delivered an opening address. From the perspective of internationally authoritative standards, he elaborated on the critical role of accreditation systems in promoting continuous school improvement, ensuring quality, and enhancing global competitiveness. This provided a significant professional reference and pathway inspiration for the high-quality development of international schools in China.
Gu Fengyan, Director of the Xishan District Education Bureau, delivered a speech. She stated that the conference focuses on the high-quality development of international schools, aiming to explore innovative educational pathways that integrate Chinese and Western approaches and promote holistic development. The goal is to cultivate a new generation with both patriotism and a global perspective, and to drive the opening-up and quality improvement of regional education.
Mr. Meng Xiaodong, Co-Principal of Wuxi United International School, reiterated the school's educational philosophy of "Integrating East and West, Harmonious Development" in his welcome speech. He emphasized the school's unwavering commitment to nurturing "lifelong learners with intellectual freedom," balancing tradition and innovation, and building bridges between the local and the global. He stressed the school's dedication to establishing a more robust quality system to meet contemporary expectations for excellent education.

学术对话环节掀起了一场跨学科的思想风暴。哈佛大学Florian Engert教授、剑桥大学David Cardwell院士、牛津大学Matthew Bevis教授，与30位优秀学子展开深度对话，在工程学、分子生物学、文学三大领域碰撞出智慧火花。
生命科学对话中，Florian Engert教授以斑马鱼模型为切入点，解读神经回路与行为奥秘。学生们敏锐追问环境对大脑的影响及神经科学与AI的融合趋势，探索生命本质。工程领域，David Cardwell院士与学生们聚焦“未来科技”，探讨室温超导的突破可能及其在医疗、交通中的革命性应用。学子们更追问AI与材料科学的融合前景，展现跨学科视野。文学殿堂里，Matthew Bevis教授与学子畅谈幽默文学的创作密码，从19世纪讽刺艺术到现代诗歌中的文化表达，解码文字背后的哲思与文化共鸣。

A dynamic academic dialogue session brought together Professor Florian Engert of Harvard University, Academician David Cardwell of the University of Cambridge, and Professor Matthew Bevis of the University of Oxford with 30 outstanding students. They engaged in in-depth discussions, sparking intellectual exchanges across the fields of engineering, molecular biology, and literature.
In the field of engineering, Academician David Cardwell and the students focused on "Future Technologies," exploring the potential breakthroughs in room-temperature superconductivity and its revolutionary applications in healthcare and transportation. The students further inquired into the integration prospects of AI and materials science, demonstrating their interdisciplinary perspective. During the life sciences dialogue, Professor Florian Engert used the zebrafish model as a starting point to explain the mysteries of neural circuits and behavior. The students astutely pursued questions about environmental impacts on the brain and the converging trends of neuroscience and AI, delving into the essence of life. In the realm of literature, Professor Matthew Bevis and the students discussed the creative elements of humorous literature, ranging from 19th-century satirical art to cultural expressions in modern poetry, decoding the philosophical thinking and cultural resonance behind the words.
Students engage in thoughtful inquiry while professors bring global perspectives to inspire innovation. Through this exchange of ideas, young learners access leading-edge knowledge and broaden their intellectual horizons. Hosted by Wuxi United International School, the 2026 International School Development Symposium provided a global platform for educational dialogue. As an experienced practitioner of integrated Sino-Western education, the College will build on this event to further cultivate innovative talents grounded in Chinese heritage and global vision, contributing to the advancement of international education in China.

圆桌对话汇聚行业中坚，上海协和教育中心总校长卢慧文领衔多位名校校长，围绕“扎根中国，链接世界”这一核心命题，立足真实办学场景，分享中西课程融合、科技高中建设等实践经验与治理思考。在理念互鉴与案例对照中，呈现“高质量”从愿景走向体系、从口号走向机制的可行路径。
校长们在分享中不仅探讨了中西课程融合的多元模式与实施难点，还就科技高中建设的路径与挑战分享了宝贵经验。他们结合各自学校的实践案例，详细阐述了如何在课程设计、师资培养、评价体系等方面实现中西教育优势的互补与融合，以及如何通过项目式学习、跨学科整合等方式推动科技高中的内涵发展。这些内容源自一线办学的扎实探索，既有理念高度，又具备很强的实操参考价值。
整场对话在理念互鉴与案例对照中不断深化，逐渐勾勒出“高质量教育”从宏观愿景落实到办学体系、从口号倡议转化为常态机制的可循路径。
A roundtable dialog brought together leading figures in the industry. Ms. Lu Huiwen, General Principal of Shanghai United Educational Center, led a discussion with several other renowned school principals. Centered on the core theme of "Rooted in China, Connected to the World," and based on real-world school management scenarios, they shared practical experience and governance thinking on the integration of Chinese and Western curricula and the construction of STEM-focused high schools.Through the exchange of ideas and comparative case studies, the forum presented feasible pathways for transforming "high-quality" from a vision into a system and from a slogan into a mechanism. the principals explored various models and challenges of integrating Chinese and Western curricula, and shared valuable insights on the development and obstacles of establishing science and technology-focused high schools. Drawing from practical cases at their respective institutions, they elaborated on how to combine the strengths of Eastern and Western education in curriculum design, teacher training, and assessment systems. They also discussed approaches to promote project-based learning and interdisciplinary integration in science high schools. These contributions were grounded in hands-on experience, offering both visionary perspectives and practical guidance.
分会场研讨：两条主线落地发展坐标
下午，两大分会场研讨并行展开，分别聚焦“科技高中系统性人才培养”与“全球化时代中西课程融合”。与会校长结合校本实践，从课程体系设计、师资专业发展、学习评价改革、资源协同机制等维度，提供更具可操作性的行动框架，为行业高质量发展输出可复制、可落地的经验参考。
在上午的研讨会尾声环节，WASC主席Barry Groves博士正式宣读了京领2026年度荣誉校长名单。这一环节不仅体现了国际权威认证机构对中国国际教育领域杰出领导者与实践者的高度关注与真诚鼓励，也进一步凸显了高质量发展在国际学校建设与评价中的关键意义。
In the afternoon, two workshops were held, focusing respectively on "Systematic Talent Cultivation in STEM High Schools" and "East-Western Curriculum Integration in the era of Globalized." Participating principals drew upon their school-based practices to provide more actionable frameworks from various dimensions, including curriculum system design, teacher professional development, learning assessment reform, and resource collaboration mechanisms. These forums contributed replicable and implementable experiential references for the high-quality development of the industry.
Towards the conclusion of the event in the morning, Dr. Barry Groves, Chair of WASC, presented the KingLead 2026 Honorary Principal awards. This segment not only reflected the recognition and encouragement from an authoritative international body for practitioners in China's international education sector but also further highlighted the industry's shared direction of "promoting improvement through standards and building reputation through quality."

This conference is not only a deep integration of international standards and Chinese practices but also a concentrated collision of academic leadership and industry wisdom. As an explorer and practitioner of integrated Chinese and Western education, Wuxi United International School will take this hosting as a new starting point to continuously build an open, diverse, and co-creative global education exchange platform.
