Evaluation System

The KingLead 2026 China Public Universities Internationalization City Index model assigns scores on a gradient basis according to each listed public university's rating on the KingLead China Public Universities International Competitiveness Ranking · 2026. The relative level of high-quality internationalized public university resources in each city is quantified by summing the city's total score and applying a benchmark conversion. All listed cities have at least one high-quality public university rated A or above.

University Scoring

Each internationalized public university is assigned a score based on its rating on the KingLead China Public Universities International Competitiveness Ranking · 2026 (AAAAA = 30 points, AAAA = 10 points, AAA = 5 points, AA = 3 points, A = 1 point).

City Initial Total Score

The scores of all listed public universities within the same city are summed.

Index Conversion

The highest initial total score among all cities is taken as the benchmark and set to 100 points. The index scores of the remaining cities are calculated using the following formula: City Index = (City Initial Total Score / Highest City Initial Total Score) × 100. The final city index results fall within the range of 0–100.
