青苗：生命常青，从苗到藤 BIBS: Life Stays Evergreen, Beanstalk Becomes Ivy

22 years is the time for BIBS to thrive from original Beanstalk International Kindergarten into today’s Beanstalk International Bilingual School with 24 campuses nationwide.

Time flies, from a single kindergarten to the 15-year bilingual education system covering from kindergartens to high schools, the education at BIBS has always been headed into the future.

BIBS is not only to cultivate students who have an international vision and understand how to extract from the collision of Chinese and Western cultures, but also to inspire them to see farther with the eyes of BIBS and to climb higher with the power of BIBS.

Entering the elementary school, their lifelong learning journey starts here. Under the guidance of teachers, kids take their time to explore six subject areas: Language, Social Studies, Mathematics, Arts, Science, Physical/ Social and Personal Education, as well as transdisciplinary skills, with an emphasis on inquiry. Gradually, they will realize the leap of knowledge acquisition step by step.

With creative learning at its core, IB PYP opens a door for kids’ curiosities, in which there are the essence of Eastern and Western cultures and the beauty of the two kinds of languages.

From the Scholarship Challenge Programme to the outstanding EAL, CSL, SEN  and ASA, the students enjoy a caring atmosphere where joy and academic rigour are at the center of their learning experience. They make excellent progress with enthusiasm in active and continuous learning and enjoy a range of specialist subjects and enrichment activities. They can develop enquiring minds and an appetite for learning through the immersive teaching.

As the old saying goes, growing trees is a ten-year project. Middle school must be a brand new stage for the students to thrive.

Students will dive into the 5 five areas of interaction (AOI): Approaches to Learning (ATL), Community and Service, Health and Social Education, Environments and Human Ingenuity. They will further get inspiration from 8 subject areas: Language Acquisition, Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Arts, Physical and Health Education, as well as Design.

They will also link traditional subject learning with real-world research, take excellent communication skills as the bridge to understand cross-cultural phenomena. At the same time, they will participate in various outdoor practices and community services, effectively apply their constantly improved knowledge system in class to the real life.

BIBS treats every student at BIBS as an individual with a genuine concern for their well-being, and teach students according to their own aptitudes.

In the stage of IB MYP, BIBS cultivates a positive attitude towards learning which will held throughout students’ education and beyond. BIBS has always been committed to providing opportunities for everyone to be stretched academically, whilst ensuring that the necessary support is in place when required.

High school is the prep stage of college. It is also an important stage for students themselves.

IBDP offered by BIBS covers six subject groups: Studies in Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics and the Arts. And there are Higher Level and Standard Level for each course, which could be chosen by students according to their personal abilities.

IBDP requires students to have interdisciplinary learning ability.Through the study of liberal arts, students expand their vision, while learning science equips them the with rigorous logical reasoning ability.

Through this stage, students’ performances in learning, social contact, mental and physical health will be significantly improved.

In addition, BIBS will provide students with a lot of activities, encouraging them to embrace challenges, cooperate with others and lead a team proactively.

For parents, graduating from high school is a new chapter for their children, because they are strong enough to face challenges in real life independently.

After 15 years in BIBS, students are expected to achieve higher stage of their life, because BIBS bestows them encouragement, courage and power all the time.

Since the establishment in 1998, BIBS has cultivated thousands of students and helped them successfully enter excellent overseas universities and colleges, achieving barrier-free docking of academic qualifications.

The offers are not only from the Top 10 overseas famous universities in the world, but also domestic higher education institutions represented by Tsinghua University and Peking University.

Taking the admission outcomes of Class of 2020 as an example, 75% of graduates applied for the UK are admitted to the Top 100 universities in QS World University Rankings 2021, while the proportion of the Top 20 universities is as high as 50%. Moreover, 85% of graduates applied for the U.S. are admitted by Top 50 universities in the U.S. News 2020 Best National Universities Ranking.

In terms of college counselling, BIBS makes every effort to ensure that 100% of students are admitted. Hence，all students applying for overseas universities will commence their application preparation from the second semester in Grade10. The university counselor will help them understand different countries, cities, universities and majors.

Furthermore, BIBS will invite professors and lecturers from high-quality overseas universities to share their views about the university life and guidance on application with BIBS students.

In terms of majors, diversified choices has always been advocated at BIBS. Currently, BIBS alumni major in economics, computer science, music, art, sports and many other fields. Besides many of these world-renowned national universities, the students are also matriculated to those remarkable art schools such as University of the Arts London and Berklee College of Music.

青苗把每一个学生都视作独立的个体，并以唯一的方法进行教学，即“因材施教”。

在初中阶段，青苗会着重培养学生积极的学习态度，并以“这种态度能贯穿学生的整个求学生涯，而且完全能够应用到之后的工作当中”为最终目标，向学生提供最有力的资源支持。

高中是大学的预备阶段，也是至关重要的一个阶段。

青苗提供的大学预科项目(IB DP)课程体系涵盖“言语文学研究、语言习得、个体与社会、实验科学、数学、艺术与选修”六大学科组，每一门学科组课程又分为高等级课程（Higher Level）和标准等级课程（Standard Level），此时，学生们将认真审视自身能力并做出判断。

IB DP课程要求学生具备文理综合的学习能力，不仅“文”以丰厚的历史底蕴为基础有力地拓宽他们的视野，“理”则通过缜密的逻辑推理教给他们观察世界的方式。

通过这一阶段，他们在知识习得、社交、情感和身体等方面的能力将得到极大提升，此外，青苗还将提供大量的课外活动机会，以培养他们挑战自我和服务他人团队合作能力，以及积极主动承担责任的领导能力。

高中也大放异彩

对于每一对父母而言，孩子高中毕业，即是翻过旧的一章而开启人生新篇章：已具有独立人格的他们将暂别父母，依靠自己积蓄了十五年的力量完成大学学业并投入其后的生活。

他们就像离巢将远飞的鸟、茫茫大海上扬帆起航的船，但对于青苗而言，他们是离枝的叶。

自1998年建校以来，青苗已培养上千名学生并帮助他们顺利进入海外优秀学校就读，实现了国内外学历无障碍对接。

在诸多毕业生录取结果中，既有位居世界前十的海外名校，也不乏以清华、北大为代表的国内高等学府。

以2020届毕业生录取结果为例，英国方向75%的学生被QS世界大学排名前100院校录取，其中排名前20的学校比例高达50%；美国方向85%都是U.S. NEWS美国大学排名前50院校。

在升学方面，青苗确保学生100%被录取。所有申请海外大学的学生都将从10年级下学期开始准备，青苗的大学申请辅导老师(University Counselor) 会辅助他们了解不同的国家、城市、大学和专业。

此外，青苗还会不定期邀请海外优秀大学的教授和讲师来到校园，与学生们分享他们眼中的大学生活，并对学生们的申请做出规划指导。
